Delivery & Site Preparation
To ensure a smooth and safe delivery, please make sure your drop location is accessible, level, and prepared before your container arrives. The amount of clearance needed will depend on the container size and the delivery equipment required.
As a general guide, please allow approximately:
- 10’ container: 50–60 feet of straight clearance
- 20’ container: 75–80 feet of straight clearance
- 40’ container: 100–120 feet of straight clearance
Additional space may be needed for turning, backing in, unloading, or positioning the container exactly where you want it. Please also check for overhead obstructions such as low tree limbs, power lines, building overhangs, gates, fences, or other obstacles.
Before delivery, we will confirm important placement details, including which direction the container doors should face. For example, many customers prefer “doors to the rear” or doors facing a driveway, loading area, job site, or business entrance for easier access.
For best results, containers should be placed on a firm, level surface such as a gravel pad, concrete pad, asphalt, or well-compacted ground. Mud, ice, loose sand, or soft uneven areas are not suitable drop locations and may prevent safe delivery. A solid base helps keep the container level, improves door operation, and helps keep the underside of the container dry and off wet ground.
If you are unsure whether your site is ready, contact us before delivery. We’ll be happy to review the location details with you and help determine the best placement option.
